Why should I use SafetyPod?
Have you ever turned down business because you didn’t feel safe? Have you ever scheduled an appointment in a location that didn’t feel safe? Many wellness professionals, including massage therapists, personal trainers and physical therapists may find themselves in uncomfortable situations, whether it’s when admitting a new client into their private office or when going to a new location for an outcall appointment. A recent poll reported over 50% of massage therapists identified safety as their number one concern when performing outcall appointments. We understand your need for caution when working alone. How do I use SafetyPod?
- Set up your SafetyPod account

- Enter your mobile phone number
- Enter your Emergency Code. Your Emergency Contacts are immediately notified that you need assistance when you text this code
- Enter the PIN you will use to Check-Out of SafetyPod
- Enter the mobile phone numbers and/or email addresses of your Emergency Contacts
- Enter your Safety Buffer: the time it takes you to thank your client and clean up before your next appointment
- A Personal Safety SMS phone number is assigned to you. Enter this number as a contact in your mobile phone. This is the number you will send your Check-In and Check-Out texts to.
- Make sure to tell your Emergency Contacts you have subscribed to SafetyPod. Let them know they may be contacted and tell them what you want them to do if they are contacted.
How do I Check-In to SafetyPod? Right before you begin your appointment, text ‘start’ and the number of minutes in the appointment to your Personal Safety SMS phone number. For example, to Check-In to a 60 minute appointment, text: start 60 (A confirmation Check-In text is sent to your mobile phone.)
How do I Check-Out of SafetyPod?
When you safely finish your appointment, text your PIN to your Personal Safety SMS phone number.
If you do not Check-Out of SafetyPod by the expected time, your Emergency Contacts receive texts and/or emails informing them you have not Checked-Out and they are asked to try to contact you.
Is SafetyPod only for work?
No, you can use SafetyPod anytime. Safety is important outside of work, too. Use SafetyPod whenever you feel you need backup.
What if I am frightened for my safety but I have not Checked-In for an appointment?
Text your Emergency Code to your Personal Safety SMS phone number anytime you feel unsafe. Your Emergency Contacts are notified and asked to contact you immediately. You cannot predict when an emergency will arise, so you can use this Emergency Feature even if you have not Checked-In to SafetyPod.
How will my Emergency Contacts know where I am if they are alerted?
SafetyPod relies on you making certain your Emergency Contacts know where you are going to be working. Make it a habit to send them a copy of your schedule each day.
Is there a way to automatically tell my safety network where I am scheduled to be?
When you upgrade to ClientPod Pro, SafetyPod is linked to your ClientPod Pro schedule. The times and locations of your ClientPod Pro scheduled appointments are included in messages to your Emergency Contacts.
